Jon Gauger, a 30-year veteran with Moody Radio, USA, set the right tempo for the second Global Partners Training (GPT) in Ghana by charging participants to prioritize lost people in their various media ministries because that was and still is Jesus’ number one priority.
“If we do not love lost people when we are away from the mic, we will not love lost people when we are around the mic”,
Jon said, as he admonished all media persons present to have at least one lost person that they would pray for and speak to until they are saved.

Before his exposition however, loud cheers and applause went up from the crowd when Jon attempted to greet his audience in twi, a Ghanaian local language, bringing back fond memories of the very good-humored Jon and last year’s training. “It’s great to be back in Ghana”, Jon said, reflecting the joy of a few others who have joined the training for the second time.

One of such second-timers, Belle Dollar-Bill, shared her experience from last year and the impact of the training on her work. She described last year’s presenters as warm, kind and so humble. Dola’s school had just started a media center when she attended GPT last year. She says she picked up many ideas from the training and all her colleagues have spoken highly of her growth and the Global Partners Training. She further said that last year, she attended the conference with three people and she has returned this year with eight people because the training was good. At this point, Dollar-Bill increased the already heightened expectations of the participants for the prospects.

As has become accustomed with the training, the evening’s opening ceremony was interlaced with songs of praise and worship that got everyone on their feet and dancing. With one voice and one heart, these African nationals and their western counterparts praised God profusely and thanked Him for journey mercies while asking for his favor on this year’s training.

It was double dosage for one night as Roy Patteron, Station Manager of Moody Radio in Chicago, USA, started the spiritual formation series with an Exposition on the topic, facing your giants. He used the abbreviation BIG, to show some three obstacles; Background, Insecurities and Goliath, that David had to deal with before he killed Goliath. He said everyone had to confront these obstacles before they can face their giants.

The second Global Partners Training in Ghana is being put together by Theovision International, Moody Radio and Reach Beyond (Formerly HCJB) to bring quality media training to some African nationals. In all, about 140 participants have arrived at the Hephzibah Center; out of the 200 people who registered for the conference. It promises to be a time of learning, sharing and networking in this four day media training event as we zoom into the second day
