1500 People Benefit From Theovision International’s facilitated Church Sound System Operators Training

Theovision International has successfully facilitated a three day National Music and Church Sound Operators training seminar organized by the Church of Pentecost for all her church sound operators across the country.

Over 2500 church workers comprising, Pastors, Praise and Worship leaders, Music Directors and Church Sound Operators attended the June residential training at the Pentecost Convention Center at Gomoa-Fetteh in the Central Region of Ghana.

Four Sound Technicians from Theovision International accompanied their President and Founder, Rev. Theo Asare, to lead the sound training sessions for over 1500 of the participants. The Church Sound System Operators were exposed to a wide range of topics such as, microphone types and their use; types of cables and connectors, their use and maintenance; amplifiers and their appropriate levels for different church settings; setting up PA systems and operating mixers and consoles; dealing with feedback and sound reinforcement.

Participants were categorized into three groups; beginners, intermediaries and professionals. No matter their level, participants listened with rapt attention and asked a lot of questions at each stage. Most of them admitted to some wrong methods they are accustomed to. Others were also pleased to discover easier solutions to their lingering

sound problems; as they openly shared of their most feared challenges, Theovision International’s technicians allayed their fears with some helpful tips. All the while, a made-shift sound system was set up for the participants to try their hands on.

The Church of Pentecost, the main organizer of the training, has partnered with Theovision International in the area of media training for the Church’s Radio and TV Preachers for the past 7 years. The church has also contributed in various ways to Theovision International’s ongoing Bible listening programs in the rural areas. Together, both partners are realizing their shared vision of transforming lives using the new and dynamic media.

Currently, the 7th Annual Radio and TV Preachers Seminar is ongoing in Agogo, in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. Rev. Asare is attending the 5 day residential event as the facilitator and he is being accompanied by young Philip Theo Asare and Samuel Tekpetey, one of Theovision International’s finest sound technicians.
